This class will be taught online and you can take part from the comfort of your own home. The RCS campus is open with a limited capacity for degree students only to ensure a safe learning environment for all.
This online short course is for people age 16+ who are interested in applying to the BA Production Arts and Design programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It is designed and led by experienced Production lecturers and aims to support your preparation for the interview process.
There is a vast array of possible ‘back-stage’ employment opportunities in theatre. These range from set and costume designer roles to workshop-based practitioner roles such as model-making, carpentry, costume making, prosthetics and scenic painting.
This 6-hour course briefly introduces all areas of design and production arts for performance via three online sessions. It focuses on practical advice and support in building a personal portfolio as well as covers interview tasks that are required when applying to our undergraduate programmes in production. Areas such as developing a concept, what to show and what to leave out, research, and creative development will be included.
