This weekly online evening class for people age 16+ focuses on developing your acting technique and experience across both classical and contemporary styles.

Acting 1 focuses on sustained and gradual development by leading students through the key areas of Basic Principles, Observation, Improvisation, Naturalism, Text Analysis, Character Voice, Physicality and Performance.This course is ideal for participants who want to focus specifically on acting skills and rehearsal techniques.

During the course students will:

  • understand the basic terminology and vocabulary of the Stanislavsky acting system
  • develop physical and vocal awareness
  • learn how to choose, analyse and prepare a contemporary monologue
  • develop an understanding of storytelling and narrative
  • begin to develop a critical language in order to analyse your work and that of your peers
  • consider performance for digital content
  • have the opportunity to present their work and gain feedback
